  • Letter from the SNAM Vice President, Heather Spaulding:

    June 10, 2004

    Dear Member:

I hope you are enjoying summer vacation. Being a student nurse is very exciting and there is a lot to learn, both inside and outside of the classroom.

How would you like to go to Daytona Beach, FL in November to learn more about being involved in student nurses' associations and to take an NCLEX review course (which is good for any stage of nursing school)? How would you like to visit with nurse recruiters from all around the country? How about traveling to Salt Lake City, UT in the spring where you would represent all of he student nurses in Maine by participating in the house of delegates and voting on issues close to the hearts of student nurses?

Being an officer in the Student Nurses' Association of Maine (SNAM) is about leadership and networking. It starts here in Maine where you and a group of student nurse leaders work together as a team to help better the great state of Maine and the futures of the nursing leaders that it is preparing. Being an officer in the SNAM means that you will commit to take one weekend a month and meet with other leaders from around the state to work on causes that your team has taken on. It also means that you will commit to representing the rest of the student nurses in the state at the NSNA conventions and as an officer of SNAM you will assist in planning and organizing the SNAM conventions.

Above you will find an application for state office, as well as job descriptions for each of the positions available. Elections will be held at our annual convention on October 29 - 30, 2004. We are looking forward to meeting and working with you.

    Sincerely,

    Heather Spaulding
    SNAM Vice President
